We're a small group http://skylight1.googlecode.com that have been meeting weekly since early 2009. We have several open source apps on the market and after a recent break we'll be tackling several Glass projects (and very likely corresponding Android projects).  Space is limited please RSVP only if you intend to participate on hands-on coding sessions. We are looking for Glass Explorers and developers however non-developers are welcome, designers/artists/testers are especially welcome.

At the last meeting we came up with a list of possible Glass projects (still open to more) - this time we will pick several and start coding. There may be a short tutorial at the start of the meeting but come prepared for hands-on coding in groups.

A very special thanks to mcgarrybowen for hosting the location and refreshments!

Hey Dario, I'm learning how to write Glassware. I'd love to be part of the private g+ group. Could you please send me an invite? Thanks.

Interesting news, I find that I'm able to test apps directly to Glass from the higher level tools I use. Could show that at the next meeting if there's interest?

Thanks for coming tonight, everybody! If you have any feedback on the space, location, food, wifi, etc. please share it with me.

With the wi-fi, I found I could browse ok, but receiving emails didn't work. IM worked though. Also, ironically, I couldn't figure out a way to join the network with Glass! You need a regular Guest network with an ordinary password, rather than the two step approach.

I asked a couple of people for help last night, trying to get adb to work. Figured it out this morning, or more exactly Florian at Mac Tech did! He's the one in the Google teeshirt:

    http://www.mac-tech.net/team

Turns out that I had accidentally opened a programmed called xReva Remote Mac, when attempting to open Xcode I believe. At the time I just quit that program, but before it had gone it had hijacked port 5037, the port that adb uses. With that port not available adb just fails silently.

I was then able to side load Launchy, though in my case I had to use the optional -s parameter for each step for adb to talk to my Glass, instead of one of the many emulators in the Android SDK.

Off to find those example apps now!

Incidentally, I tend to use higher level tools for developing mobile apps (Flash, Director, Unity, LiveCode, things like that), and I tested a demanding AIR app. It ran fine on Glass.

Will there be free real food? Just want to know if I need to eat something first beforehand so I don't suffer during the meetup lol.

Hi all, thanks for the comments and questions:

    Review: http://www.google.com/glass/start

    and especially:

    https://developers.google.com/glass/
(take a look at the playground to try our json/html for designing cards)

There's a third party emulator that uses javascript and python clients:
    http://glass-apps.org/google-glass-emulator

However we'll be focusing on Java for both Mirror API and of course Android native apps for Glass.

Take a look at http://glass-apps.org to see what's already out there.
