Re: [londroid] Reading Android Panic Logs?

The device does freeze, yes. Most often happens when browsing the web & listening to music (cue the "well don't do that then!," comments).

Looking at the Motorola forum this is a common problem - but it's hard to reliably reproduce.

Thanks for the comments - I'll return the device as faulty.

Reproducible steps would be interesting. If the logs were generated after the reboot then usually there isn't much useful in there. Either way I've had a look through and can't see anything that stands out. Does the phone freeze at all before rebooting? anything consistent about the experience at all?

Hi Terence,

Do you mean the device randomly reboots, as opposed to the app actually restarting.

I've come across a similar situation with the Motorola Atrix and the Bionic. I think it's something to do with Motorola's gingerbread build for some of their devices.

I would suggest reaching out to one of the Android developer advocates, to see if you can demonstrate the problem to them, especially if you have reproducible steps.

Good luck!
Nilesh.

Bit of an odd request this.
I'm testing the Motorola Pro Plus - and the device has a nasty habit
of restarting during testing.  Not FC, an actual restart. It's not
limited to running any particular app that I can see.

I've got the panic logs off the device, but they don't mean much to
me. Any of you fine people able to decypher what's going on?  I've
stuck the most recent crash log up at http://pastebin.com/VmVnfxYM

Are there any tools for seeing what's going on?  DDMS shows nothing
untoward up until the device crashes and restarts.

Thanks

Terence
