July Meetup - The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

We have a winner as a next book : The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt...

I'm scheduling it for July but we will discuss that in our June meetup to decide whether we keep the date or schedule the meetup for after the summer vacation... sign up if you can make it in July and you will be updated if it changes...

And also... if the weather is nice, I might change to an outdoor location (picnic???)... be aware of/flexible for changes :)

And except for that... ENJOY YOUR READING!!!

Can I still join if I haven't quite finished the book? Picked it up a week ago and tried my best but this suckered is long! Still it would be nice to meet the group.

The acid trips and glue sniffing are hardly the crux of the novel! I loved the hidden details of the antiques business, the descriptions of lush Upper East Side NY life contrasted with that of barren, bizarre suburban Las Vegas, the depth of the characters, the passion for beauty, the love stories, the language... I even loved the glue-sniffing Boris, crazy Xandra, the icy Barbour family, wonderful old Hobie, and, of course, tortured, tragic, hilarious Theo, the hero.
