Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer

That’s it… the vote is closed and the book of September was decided to be Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer .

A little taste of the summary: « Oskar Schell is a nine-year-old amateur inventor, jewelry designer, astrophysicist, tambourine player and pacifist. Oskar turns his naïvely precocious vocabulary to the understanding of historical tragedy, as he searches New York for the lock that matches a mysterious key left by his father when he was killed in the September 11 attacks… »

A coincidence?

To be discussed …

I set the vote based on the books proposed during the meeting.

I will send an email about that to all the members, but you can start voting already... Esra, you too :)

Anirudh also recommended Vurt by Jeff Noon as a good reading, but he wasn't sure it would make a book discussion... so I only mention it here... thanks Anirudh.

The book I was talking about, for which I could not remember the author, is The Luminaries, by Eleanor Catton.
It is the winner of the 2013 Man Booker prize. The author is the youngest ever to win the award.

It was very nice debating with you all!

Hi, this is my first time. I'm only about 60% through the book. Is it ok to join the conversion this way? Thank you. :)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
