Presentation: ADVOCACY 101 "Reaching Out with Compassion" & Farewell Dinner!

Advocacy 101 "Reaching Out with Compassion"

& Dinner at Green!

Join us on this special evening as Animal Advocates of Arizona hosts an innovative presentation with long-time animal advocates Jeff Boghosian and Julie Nicolazzi.  Jeff is the ever resourceful lead organizer of Vegan Arizona, and Julie, the uniquely masterful moderator of AZforAnimals.

Immediately following the presentation, we’ll head to Green to enjoy some yummy food!  Green's mouthwatering menu:  Conveniently order your favorites right off the menu & pay for your dinner at the main counter -- all in one fell-swoop!

Acme and Green are located in the same plaza:
240 N. Scottsdale Road, Tempe, AZ

West side of Scottsdale Road/between McDowell and McKellips

How can we positively effect a difference in a world where animal suffering is rampant?

You won't want to miss this excellent opportunity as Jeff and Julie impart their years of expertise in effective advocacy tools, sharing how we can all live a more meaningful life and do our part to save the most amount of animals.

We'll explore how focused, effective animal advocacy allows us to instill immediate influence every single day.  Promoting cruelty-free eating in a positive and welcoming manner allows us to alleviate as much suffering as possible, for three reasons: the numbers, the suffering, and the opportunity.  99 of every 100 animals killed in the United States are killed for food. Animals raised for food suffer tremendously, from birth to slaughter.  Through vegetarian advocacy, every single person we meet is a potential victory and the exponential amount of change that we each can make is incredible.  The opportunity to influence many people with a small amount of effort is huge.  To this end, feel open to reading this insightful piece:

Admission to this presentation is FREE. Donations will gratefully be accepted to help contribute toward the funding of our group's events.

We’ll share details on how you can participate in upcoming Animal Advocates of Arizona educational outreach events.  Let's work together to increase our already strong animal advocacy presence in the valley!

A huge amount of gratitude is extended to fellow member Dan Hargest of Acme Prints for his unwavering support of our group's events and for the generous use of his one-of-a-kind store for the hosting of this and other important meetups.

Let's get together to thank and bid farewell to Jeff Boghosian, his equally hard-working wife, Dawn Ratcliffe, and awesome John Oberg before their fast-approaching move to make as huge a difference in other parts of the globe as they have in the valley of the sun!  We will miss them dearly.

Matt Ball, Cofounder and Executive Director of Vegan Outreach had this to say about Jeff, Dawn, and John: "If we are going to create a better world - not just a little less bad, but one that is fundamentally different - we can't afford to simply 'do something, do anything.'  Rather, in addition to working hard, we have to work smart, seeking to optimize our efforts such that they have the greatest impact possible.  Few couples do this better than Jeff and Dawn!  More importantly, they've helped numerous others get active, too.  Too many to mention, but John Oberg is clearly a standout in any situation!  (We hope he doesn't get hurt by the DC crowd.)  From leafleting at First Fridays, the Warped Tour, and especially at colleges and universities, the Phoenix Phorce had made a major impact on Arizona and Arizona Advocacy.  We'll miss seeing them on a somewhat regular basis, but we're thrilled they'll be an even bigger part of Vegan Outreach now!"

Kari Nienstedt, Arizona State Director for the Humane Society of the United States wanted to share these words about these amazing people: "What an amazing trio.  Their dedication and passion for animal advocacy is infectious.  These three amazing advocates show us not only how to be more effective in our work to protect animals, but give us a shining example of how to deal with our fellow humans, too!  It is a tremendous blow to the activist community in Arizona to lose them…especially all at once.  But, without a doubt, they will continue their amazing work in their new communities and will each be a powerful voice for animals everywhere.  These are three of my favorite people and I can’t begin to express how happy and honored I am to have all of them in my life."
