Free 500 seat "Vegucated" screening in Tucson - know any Tucsonans?

I realize most of you are in the Phoenix area, however if you have friends or family in Tucson, please encourage them to attend this free movie night via Facebook or by other routes. We're aiming high with a 500 seat theater so there's plenty of seats to fill. This is a great opportunity to inspire others to question the status quo with this thought provoking and entertaining film.

"Vegucated" will be shown Sunday May 19th at 7:00PM, at The Loft Cinema - a great locally owned non-profit theater.

There's a few ways you can help share this free screening...

If you are a Facebook user, please go to the event page here:

And RSVP a "Yes" or a "Maybe", then when prompted - invite Facebook friends you know in Tucson.

If you follow up with a phone call or an email to your Tucson friends, you'll have a higher success rate. I've been telling friends and family something like, "it's not like I expect you to go vegan after seeing it, but I guarantee you'll take away something from it and if nothing else I'd love for you to better understand why I'm vegan".

You can link them to The Loft Cinema's event page at:

the Tucson Vegetarian and Vegan Meetup Group event page at:

or just tell them the time and place. If you have any other networks you can post to or ideas on how to spread the word, please do!

This is the first of a series of free movie nights presented by Consuming for Change (a name I'm using for nonprofit work), along with Healthy You Network (local nonprofit vegan group) and Lovin' Spoonfuls (local vegan restaurant). Forks Over Knives will be shown June 18th, followed by Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home, being planned for July 23rd.

Thanks! We had 312 people attend and was told by the producers this was one of Vegucated's biggest screenings! It went wonderfully. Learning a lot about this process if anyone plans on screening movies contact me and I can offer some tips.

Now on to the next film, Forks Over Knives - June 18th.

I wonder if anyone here actually knows anyone in Tucson? I can post again when Forks gets closer, but I don't wanna clutter the board if it's not relevant.

Feel welcome to post when Forks gets closer, we have members that live in Tucson and the surrounding areas. I know they'd appreciate to hear the news. Thanks again!!
