Announcing a new Meetup for The Toronto Animal Rights Meetup Group!

What: Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary Help-Out Weekend and Sleepover!

When: August 2,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Hey everybody!

Have you been looking for a really cool way to roll up your sleeves, actively help animals AND visit a working farm sanctuary right in your own backyard?

Well then, come join in this upcoming Saturday morning, August 2nd, as a group of us head out to Lakeside Ontario (approximately 1 1/2 hrs. west of Toronto) to lend a helping hand at Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary! (www.cedarrow.org)

Here's your chance to see first hand what it takes to run an animal sanctuary while also giving some much needed assistance with some of the chores around the place! We've got some animal fencing to work on, a barn to muck out, and some loose hay to bag among some of our tasks....we've also got dinner on Saturday PLUS breakfast and lunch on Sunday covered for you! (please do bring a your own lunch for Saturday though). We'll also planning to have a bonfire under the stars Saturday night to cap off the day! (alcohol permitted....but you have to bring your own! ;)

In addition, as mentioned in the event title, we're ALL invited to spend the night either camping out under the stars OR sleeping in the hay loft!!! (c'mon now, when's the last time you got to sleep in a hay loft, huh??? ;)

lol....and as I said, you WILL be getting breakfast provided when you get up in the morning and lunch afterwards so you won't have to go home hungry... ;)

I'm looking for some definite RSVP's here as we have to factor in our numbers to plan the amount of food to make...I also need to know who needs a ride and who has access to a vehicle and can offer rides so we can match people up and, of course, it should go without saying that passengers need to chip in for fuel, right? ;) ALSO, we've got a few tents already for the weekend but, if anyone else wants to bring theirs as well, the more the merrier! PLEASE do be sure to bring your own sleeping bags or alternate bedding. (please note that staying over is obviously NOT mandatory...but if you don't, you do miss breakfast and lunch the next day... ;)

We should all probably factor in leaving Toronto around 8-8:30 Saturday morning in order to make it out there by 10am.....I'll be providing specific directions "off list" to those who are definitely coming...

So, what do you say gang? Who's up for breaking a little bit of a sweat for a good cause?? Let me know asap!

See you all soon!!!!

Paul :o)

Please note: Children are welcome but no companion animals please as the resident dog, Sandy, does not get along with other dogs.
