What: Vegan Toastmasters Event!
When: Saturday, September 1, 11:00 AM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Event Description: Hello My Animal Rights Friends,
This coming Saturday from 11am-12:30pm there is another Vegan Toastmasters meeting. These meetings are wonderful! Basically, it's a group set up to help people with public speaking, and more specifically how to discuss vegan issues fluidly. Have you ever been confronted by someone regarding an animal rights issue and you wish you knew exactly what to say as eloquently as possible? This group helps you deal with those situations.
It's an amazingly fun and friendly atmosphere. I was nervous my first meeting because I wasn't sure I was up for the challenge of speaking publicly and being critiqued on my speaking ability, but the group is SO cordial and welcoming. I look forward to going every time.
And this coming weekend is even more special because I will be giving my first official speech, so you can come and watch me attempt to entertain a room full of people (and possibly make a fool of myself).
I hope to see everyone there! And if you can't make it to this next meeting we meet every first and third weekends of the month.
We meet in the meeting room upstairs of the Wilshire Wild Oats Marketplace. When you walk in the front doors it's located to the right.
Below is a more formal explanation of the group:
The mission of Vegan Toastmasters is to provide a supportive
environment for vegans to learn and practice speaking and leadership skills. As vegans, we need to put forth as strong and effective a message as possible on behalf of those beings without a voice. Speeches relating to the many aspects of veganism are encouraged.
