Dear Susan,
It's been more than a week since the slaughter of baby seals started off Newfoundland, and the Canadian government has still failed to announce how many seals can be clubbed and shot for fur.

I am shocked that it seems as if sealers can kill as many baby seals as they want this year without limits -- even as climate change melts the seals' sea ice habitat.

Please, if you can help by giving to our Protect Seals campaign now, The McGrath Foundation will match it.

With your support, we're closing global markets and ending demand for seal products. But unbelievably, sealers are being paid by the Canadian government this year to stockpile seal fur.

More than 53,000 seal pups have been killed in eight days -- and, since the kill limit has not been released, we have no idea how many more seals could die for fur no one wants.

Now is not the time for us to sit quietly. Watch our new video; then please make a donation of whatever you can afford. Every dollar you give will be turned into two.

Susan, we are making progress. This commercial seal hunt is a shadow of what it was not too long ago, when 140,000 seals were slaughtered in less than 48 hours.

But we need to shut the reckless sealing industry down -- 100 percent -- and your support is crucial. Your gift will help us defend life-saving international bans on seal product trade and convince the Canadian government to stop the slaughter forever.

If every donor who sees this message makes a donation to save seals now, we'll match each gift up to $250,000, thanks to the generous McGrath Foundation.

Thank you for everything you do for seals and animals everywhere,

Rebecca Aldworth
