Sandie - unfortunately, I am so far over my limit with fosters now,  I can not take the poor baby.  I will email, and post, and contact some recent foster offers for some cats I needed homes for - some of those may still be available.  If we can't find a foster (hopefully, we can) I will help you trap him/her and at least we can get the cat to a shelter.  Thank your for helping and caring about this cat.  I will let you know within a few days - it takes that long to correspond as we AR people are all so overwhelmed and busy - but, I am on it.  Gia

Hey folks!

I have slightly desperate situation concerning a cat.  I'm at work and I don't have time to search through all of my contacts, so I thought I'd send it to you folks and ask if you know of anyone who MIGHT be able to help. Somebody dumped a full-grown housecat in the woods where I feed my feral cat friend.  During the coldest time of this winter.  In an area frequented by coyotes. Every morning I feed at least one feral cat who lives in the woods on Hopkins Rd in Mentor.  I think there's only one left.  This morning there was a cat hunkered down in the shelter next to the gazebo I built staring me in the eye and meowing like crazy, obviously confused and pleading with me.  I've seen a dumped housecat do that before, ask for help, and it's how I came to adopt one of my current cats.  I'd like to humane-trap it and get it out ASAP before the coyotes or the cold get it.  I'm good at differentiating coyote tracks from dog tracks and I know that, especially during the coldest winter days, coyotes come to the cat shelter at night and clean up the leftover cat food.

Housecats have absolutely NO survival skills when they're dumped in the woods. If you know of ANYONE who could foster it till I can find a home, it would be FANTASTIC. I'm at double my usual cat limit.  I'm up to 8 cats and they're maintaining an uneasy truce and balance between some territorial issues in the relatively small area in which we live.

Help? :-) I don't have Facebook access till tonight so I can't post it there right now either. THANKS!

Shane Please reply to this e-mail if you can help.
