Awaking compassion - demo

  • November 2, 2013 · 11:00 AM

Hi,
I've been planning to start demos to awaken compassion towards so called "farmed animals" for a few months now. It was delayed for one reason or another but I'm ready to start now.
I would like the first demo to be on 2nd of November in central London. Will send an e-mail to all who would like to get involved closer to the time.
How do I imagine this to happen?
We will be holding nice, compassionate pictures of animals and in the same time one of us will read stories about animals. The event will be children friendly. There won't be any nasty pictures or stories.
I would like to invite people who are very friendly to all people, vegans and non vegans. I do not intend to offend anyone. The only purpose of the demo will be to awaken compassion so those of you how are angry with other people who are not vegan/vegetarian yet or have any other opinion please do not come or if you decide to come comply with the friendliness of the event.
Thank you!

I regret not bringing Lilyana (my 3 year old), she would've enjoyed it I think because the pictures were pleasant. The placards were great and I believe did make people at least think, especially some of the children and their parents, the stories were great too and went with some of the placards. :) Well done Beata for organising and to everyone for helping! We were are smallish group but the message from us was BIG! :)

This was a very good demo in spite of several no shows and quite small numbers! Beata organised this so well with lovely large boards with animal pictures and wording, and lots of stories of animal altruism, thank you Beata, all your hard work preparing really showed, so I would give it 10 stars out of 5 if that was allowed. I think this is the kind of demo which needs to be tried out in other towns around London. Can we have a try in Staines or Kingston sometime? You would also be very good at Speakers Corner!

We will be meeting near Green Park station. We will have about 15-30 minutes to discuss the purpose of the demo. After those 15-30 minutes we will walk to the place where we will be standing with the placards (will try to upload the pictures this evening). Some of us will be giving Animal Aid "Friends or food" leaflets to the public. I (or anyone willing to) will be reading stories about animal heroes. The demo will last about 2-3 hours. Later we can all go to a vegan restaurant.

thank you for sharing but during this demo we won't show any images of animal suffering, the purpose of this demo is making people aware how similar animals are to us and that they deserve to live they should never be on anyone's plate

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
