VOLUNTEER DAY AT FRIEND FARMED ANIMAL SANCTUARY

Meet at Charing Cross station at 9.15 - by the ticket office. Please bring £5 note and some pound coins for the fare - or drive down.  For a group of 4 or more there is a 50% discount fare.

Bring wellies, a change of trousers/top and a snack or potluck to share. Lifts to and from Paddock Wood Station are available.

These visits are always enjoyable: usually we help with outdoor maintenance and other mini projects around the sanctuary.  Its also  chance to meet like-minded people and interact with many rescued farmed animals (normally including feeding them).......we usually leave around 5pm but people can leave earlier if they want of course.

Thank you dear friends.

Sorry to cancel this time but I am going on the march against live exports in Ramsgate on Saturday. Shame they clash....I'll miss seeing you guys:) I'd prefer to come to Friend but they really need numbers on that march, the protestors who turn up at all hours and all weathers at the sailings are having a tough time. Last night on BBC Southeast the main story was about this, the police have been judged by an independent body (IPCC) to have treated protestors wrongly and unfairly and said that the Chief Constable would face misconduct charges if he were still in post....he's retired. This is a rare victory for our side...I've never heard of any such report before coming down in favour of animal rights activists.....and it's a tribute to the courage and determination of the (peaceful) activists from KAALE, Kent Action Against Live Exports.

Hi to all, cannot wait to come along to the animal sanctuary this Sat! I am a big animal lover and (nearly) a vegan and feel increasingly more I should do something for animals. Think this should be the right start! :)

Hi David, I have a most horrendous cold. I still hope to get rid of it in time to be there on Saturday. Shall I take myself off the list or can I confirm tomorrow?

      Hi Thandi,
Sorry to hear you're not well......hope you feel better soon. These visits are normally on the last Saturday of the month, which I think in December is the 27th.
I'm thinking we may discuss changing this in view of possible reduced train service on that day but any change would be announced well in advance.

Apologies, there's a visit to Friend on Sat Dec 13th........you'll see it under Upcoming Meetups.....that's the penalty of anyone being able to schedule a meetup without referring to the organisers first.....very helpful! But that has advantages too. The visit on the 27th December is still on the schedule at present.
