Hugletts Wood Animal Sanctuary Open Day

Hugletts are having an open day on Sunday[masked] to raise much needed funds for the special needs barn and the sanctuary which is home to many rescued cows, bulls, sheep, chickens, ducks and others. You will get to meet and learn about the the animals, how they got there and how they enjoy life there.
There will be vegan food to buy and merchandise and plants to buy.
We have been there twice and have had fantastic time both times. It is free entry but all they ask is for an entry donation of what you can afford.

They are willing to pick up from the nearest station which is Robertsbridge Rail station but you will have to call or email Jane:[masked] . [masked] in advance.
The cheapest fair is £24.40 return from London Charing Cross Station to Robertsbridge Rail Station.http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/London/RBR/250514/1045/arr/250514/1645/dep

All aboard!!
Ok, I have looked up coach prices leaving from Southall in Ealing (West London) and returning to Southall. Depending on how many people are going by Sunday 18.5.14. The cost per seat would be anything from £15. (for the coach with toilet but we need minimum 50 people...) to £28. (from 16 seater to 36 seater minibus but with no toilets- so we'll have to make a toilet stop on the way). We would leave Southall at 8am to get there for 11am and leave the sanctuary 5pm to get to Southall 7pm or earlier if it rains all day. If you want to come, please let me know asap with numbers of people coming, the more the cheaper for all and we can get a toilet on board too so invite a friend or two be they veggie or not so they can have the compassionate vegan seed planted! When I have exact numbers, I'll post the prices of the seats to be paid for.

If you're going by car they will have parking, here's my journey planner search: http://www.transportdirect.info/Web2/JourneyPlanning/JourneyDetails.aspx?cacheparam=5

That said, even meeting up on the A271, south of Ashburnham, and taking the shortest route, would only likely save you about 5 miles overall, whilst the one heading on from there would have to drive more mileage. Okay, scrap that idea!

We are now getting there by train if anyone wants to join us at Charing Cross Station, we will catch the 8.55am train. We ought to meet there by 8.30am the latest to benefit from Group save discounts though. My number is below if you want to call. :)

I meant Charing Cross RAIL station and please wait near the ticket sales area, I think 8.15am to be safe and to give us time to purchase tickets and get to the platform/train ontime! Don't forget to take note of my number above, so far I know of 6 adults with 3 children under 5 years so we can have another 3 adults on the groupsave discount.

Can very young children come along? Is it just a visit or is the expectation that we volunteer/work on the farm?

(Sorry, Messup has shortened that link, so it's no longer obvious that clicking on it will also take you to Amrit's family group!)
