VOLUNTEER WEEK-END WORK PARTY AT FRIEND FARMED ANIMAL SANCTUARY

Dear FRIEND Supporters,

Mark and Marion need us!

In advance of the much awaited fundraising fezi event taking place on 19 July : https://www.facebook.com/events/1497596897126372/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming

We are organising a volunteer week-end work party to help prepare and sort some of the many tasks at the sanctuary.

To make things a little easier and increase the volunteer turn out we propose extending the existing monthly event at the end of the month from Friday 27th June through to Sunday 29th June. CAN YOU MAKE ANY OR ALL OF THESE days to help?

The work days at FRIEND are good fun, please consider volunteering your time if you can that week end.

Bring wellies, gardening gloves, a change of trousers/top (just in case) and a snack or potluck to share. Lifts to and from Paddock Wood Station are available.

Usually we help with outdoor maintenance and other mini projects around the sanctuary. It's also a chance to meet like-minded people and interact with many rescued farmed animals (including feeding them and mucking out).......we usually leave around 5pm but people can leave earlier if they want of course.

Volunteers normally meet at Charing Cross station at 9.15 - by the ticket office. Please bring £5 note and some pound coins for the fare - For a group of 4 or more there is a 50% discount fare.
or drive down (if you can offer lifts would be great). Sanctuary website: http://www.friendsanimalrescue.org.uk/about_new.htm

Nico and I plan to be there the week end so hope you can make it. Please let me know so I can track numbers. I will also be creating an FB event for people not on Meetup.

Thank you for caring for the animals.

Love
Cinzia

Amrit, it is kind enough of you to mention that, but I think the distance was very short, so it's OK with no money.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came this week end, some travelled a fair distance! The hard work really paid off as we achieved so much and the weather was not so bad despite the forecast. Thanks to everyone who brought food and gave lifts to others - this is much appreciated by all, and thanks for helping with everything! We had a few very young volunteers in training! We took many photos but here are just a few. Enjoy xxx

The forecast is rain on Saturday and shine on Sunday: if that stays, I'll switch from Saturday to Sunday in the hopes of being more productive. Being a one-day lightweight, I have to make the most of it :).
