On Sunday 5th October Cancer Research UK (CRUK) will be staging a fundraising "Race for Life" event, on Clapham Common.
CRUK fund the most appalling experiments on animals and we will be distributing leaflets to educate members of the public not to support them, nor any other charity that takes part in or funds animal research, and to donate to humane non-animal research instead.
We'll be distributing Animal Aid's excellent "Is your money paying for animal experiments?" leaflets (see http://www.animalaid.org.uk/images/pdf/leaflets/isyourmoneypaying.pdf) and could do with lots of help to give them out.
So please come along to Clapham Common at 10.00am on Sunday 5th October to lend a hand. It's hard to estimate how long the leafletting will go on for, but it's unlikely to be for more than a couple of hours.
Leaflets will be provided and we're asking people not to bring banners or placards, as this is a public education exercise rather than a protest.
We'll be wearing high-vis vests/jackets, which is a good tactic to get people to take leaflets, as it makes you look "official", so if anyone going has one they can wear, then please do so, although that's not essential.

I have been inspired to do this by the efforts of Worcestershire Vegans & Veggies who did the same thing at their local Race for Life.
