Firstly, thanks for considering keeping this group going.
The trouble is meet up costs money, I am not sure how much it is but they charge quite a lot to the organiser and the last organiser Chooi-Leng had paid it for a while, but could not continue.
Are you on the Vegetarian and Vegan Meet up groups?
I am sure you’re on Veg-London on Yahoo, here is the link in case any more of the members would like to join (although it’s more social than AR) http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/VEG-London/
There just seem to be too many groups and this particular Meet up had been moribund compared to many others for a while now.
There is also the arevents list people can sign up to (I think you are be on there already though), this list sends you details of demos and leafleting mostly in London but some events outside London too. It’s not an interactive list like some but still is a very good way to find out what is happening and get involved.
We now have a facebook group called LARCAS to replace this Meet up group (London Animal Rights Campaigns and Socials) which myself and Paul Bruce-Joy have been urging ppl to join now this one is likely to close down, so even if this closes there is no need to lose touch!
I hope this link works:

I thought this group was too important to loose! I am a fledgling organiser so would appreciate some great ideas for meetups.
let's do some social events like restaurants and also i love farm/animal sanctuaries, also eco orientated events would be great as well.
