Yoshi has proposed an outing to the Kyoto Art & Antiques Japanese art and antique sale! I have no idea what the price ranges on these items might be, but window-shopping is fun as well! :)
Kyoto Art & Antiques are open only twice a year - the rest of the time, the owners are scouring Japan for great items to bring back to Seattle!
Many of the prices are truly amazing and even if you are not in the market to purchase, it's fun to just look around!
Typically, sales include:
furniture - we're talking amazing tansu, chests & small as well as large pieces
textiles - often bolts of vintage silk for kimono
haori, yukata, kimono
ceramics - for everyday use or special occasions
temple items - lanterns, statues, etc.
Note: the location has changed slightly from last year, so make sure to double-check your directions. As usual, I'll be waiting outside for people to show up, so just look for the girl in the funny hat! :)
