Pacific Rim Opening Night

Everyone--it's been proposed that as proper anime fans, we need to go en masse to see Pacific Rim on opening night to enjoy the giant robot extravaganza! I'm putting this meetup to see how many people are interested in going, and which theater/showing they'd like to meet at. My personal suggestion is for a theater either downtown Seattle or in Bellevue, to make it central for most of the group and allow eating opportunities before or after, if people so wish. Let me know what you think!

I just found out from a friend that if you go see Pacific Rim at a Regal, they'll give you a free poster drawn by Yoji Shinkawa (famed Metal Gear artist) Maybe this movie is worth a second trip for some people? :-)

Any. I went to the one in the Renton Landing and they had a box full of posters still.

I REALLY can't make this. It's not only difficult to get to for me, it's even ridiculous for those that live in Seattle!

I'm off of work that day, so I wouldn't mind arriving early and getting some seats. However, I am meant to meet Darryl at front entrance around 7:30pm, so would someone mind acquitting me around that time?

Oh man, I just realised that Darryl & I might not be able to make this. I think he gets out of work at 7pm... :( I will conference with him and let you know! *major trepidation worried face*

Got my ticket too--man, I hate convenience fees. :( But I hate movies being sold out before I get there even more ...

Ok guys, looks like factoria 8 at 7:30 might be our best bet--all the other showings I could find were way late or way early. Is that acceptable for everyone?

Works for me! I'd like to buy tickets early, I'm always worried about getting sold out on opening days.

Yeah, id definitely recommend getting tickets on fandango or something, as well as arriving early for good seats!

I'm still undecided myself (Seattle-side busser) but I thought I should add this. You probably should setup a meeting time before the movie starts. People have all kinds of different ideas about when they'll need to get there and you'll probably want time to gather up as well. Just speaking from previous movie gathering experience..

Ok, so it sounds like a 7-8 pm showing would be the best--any peferences between the Lincoln Square theater in downtown Bellevue and the Factoria theater on Factoria Blvd?

I confirm that I work there. It's free weekdays after 6pm and free both Sat and sun.:-) but if we eat before I recommend crossroad at Bellevue, they have a food court there

We should go to Spiced!!! It's across the street from Crossroads and it's SUPER DELICIOUS!!! I've always wanted to take you/go there with you Rebecca!

Of COURSE we should go! Giant fighting robots have been a part of anime since forever! I'm looking forward to seeing this.

    Sound good to me

I don't have a problem with Bellevue, but can we make it a later showing. Trying to get to Bellevue at 5:00 on a Friday no matter which road you take would be miserable when coming from the "left side of the lake". :)

And I don't even get off work until 6.

That sounds really stupid, but what is the Pacific Rim?

I'd add my vote for Bellevue. I generally try to avoid Seattle if I can, heh.

I vote for Bellevue as well. For obvious reasons... ^_^ Plus, it's MUCH easier parking/driving for those who aren't busing it.
