Much Ado About Nothing: 6:50 showing

Writer/director Joss Whedon's take on Shakespeare's beloved battle-of-the-sexes comedy is a contemporary makeover. The trailer looks positively delightful. http://tinyurl.com/d2ul283

Meet at 6:30 for 6:50 Sunday showing. Runtime: 1 hr. 50 minutes (with previews, just above 2 hours).

You can earn Criterion points, but alas, no ticket discount using the club card. However, if you get dinner at Potbelly's beforehand, you can purchase a $7 ticket instead of a full price ticket, then exchange it for a Much Ado ticket at the box office.

I saw the trailer for this and could not take it seriously for even a second. It looks like one of those "trying way too hard to be something brilliantly artistic" kinds of movies. I'm sorry, but it will take a lot of convincing to get me to spend time and money on this one. Plus, I still need to see Monster's University and Man of Steel.

Invite me when it's Shakespeare in space with Nathan Fillion.

Please, try to change my mind though :-)

Are there really no other shakespeare or Joss Whedon fans around here?
