2010 Slamdance Comedy hit! THE SCENESTERS at Rams Head On Stage!

JUST ANNOUNCED!!!
THE SCENESTERS award winning Director (Best Director - 2009 Edmonton Film Festival) and ensemble actor Todd Berger will be flying from Los Angeles to attend our Annapolis screening and participate in an audience Q and A  after the program!
The Annapolis Pretentious Film Society is screening one of the big Indie Film hits to come out of Park City's Slamdance film festival this year: "THE SCENESTERS!" This comedy by Todd Berger has been shaking up film festivals with award after award and was recently praised in USA TODAY's "Pop Candy" as the #1 in the "Pop Five" from the Wisconsin Film Festival. Check it out here...
Today's Pop Five: nicoliciousv2's indie picks from the Wis. Film Fest Synopsis: When a serial killer starts picking off beautiful young hipsters on the east side of Los Angeles, a group of crime scene videographers hatch a plan to catch him. Filmed in psuedo-documentary style, this film is Sunshine Cleaners meets L.A. Confidential with the comedic edge of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
laughing Critics are giving THE SCENESTERS high marks as it tours the festival circuit, and we are very happy that they have agreed to special exclusive non-festival screening for the audience of the APFS.

It is a very unusual and and innovative movie that is smart and hilarious. I am proud that we are bringing THE SCENESTERS to Annapolis. Director and Actor Todd Berger will be at the screening for an IN PERSON Q&A. Among other awards for the film, Todd was awarded BEST DIRECTOR at the 2009 Edmonton Film Festival for THE SCENESTERS. I hope to see you there, I want to thank all of you who have attended previous APFS screenings in support of Independent Filmmaking. Cheers, Pericles (Note: In the trailer on the event page there is one gory shot of a corpse. This is the only gory shot in the entire film and I want to stress that this is NOT a gory film or a violent one. This a comedy.)

Our best screening ever, with a huge Annapolis Movie Club turnout. The movie went over well and the director Todd Berger, did a funny and entertaining Q&A with the audience. He then did a couple of interviews (One of them with the APFS) and then joined some audience members for drinks in the outdoor courtyard of Rams Head afterward. He gave away posters, t-shirts and buttons. Truly a fun evening.

I had a friend join the group and he brought his daughter (another good friend of mine). So, not only did I know some people there, but the movie was thoroughly enjoyable. The moment it ended, my friend turned and said "I want to get that on DVD!" The cut-aways, the 'film noir' style scenes and the film noir narratives were great. Certainly one I would suggest for someone who knows film, knows what is being parodied and knows some good dialogue.
