Bow Tie Cinema at the Harbour Center in Annapolis has four great films scheduled in October for their ongoing weekend "Cine Classic" Film Series. The first is the 1968 musical, Funny Girl, famous for being Barbra Streisand's film debut and the role for which she would win the Best Actress Oscar.
This is the screen version of the Broadway production, also starring Streisand, which made her a household name even before the film's debut. Very much Streisand's film, the musical was directed by the Hollywood legend William Wyler and co-stars Omar Sharif.

My commentary begins at 10:30 and includes little known/fascinating facts about the film's stars, director and production. The film starts at 11:00 a.m. Audience questions and comments are encouraged both before and after the screening.
Admission is $5.50 ($4.50 with a Bow Tie free Criterion Club card which can be obtained online at Bow Tie's website or at the theater.)
