The Washtenaw County 2nd Saturday RPG Meetup

The March Meetup will be at Dan & Tracey's in Ann Arbor; this is an alcohol-free location.

The purpose of the 2nd Saturday Meetup is to bring together experienced players with people new to, or rejoining the RPG world. The games are short, one-time adventures, and no experience is necessary.

The Teen Group now meets separately; please contact an Event Organizer for more information on this group.

We do rely on members to run events and help us out when needed. Our biggest need is for DM's. We like to have 2 DM's (and preferably a backup) so we can handle at least 15 players. Any game system is okay to DM. There are a whole bunch of great systems other than D&D and we feel it is valuable for players to experience them. We want all players to have fun, meet other like minded people and make connections for opportunities to play outside the Meetup.

Laura will be running "Roll for Shoes," an RPG "microsystem" with heavy storytelling, role-playing, and minimal rules. http://story-games.com/forums/discussion/11348/x for more information.

Reino will be running a one-off, likely 3.5 with a few of his home-brew house rules.

If you ever have questions, Tracey, Jim and I are always willing to help.

Roll a 20,
Dennis

The funniest game of D&D Ever

Cliff Notes: Nearly everything was either kicked down, set on fire, covered in plants, paralyzed, shrunk, grown, seduced, had its sex changed, and/or was profusely apologized for.

-You have a small dragon coming to eat you.
-I'm gonna try to seduce it by batting my eyes at it *real* sexy, 'cause that's all I can do right now.

As always, our players ROCK! Thanks so much, all those at my table, for your patience with a last-minute scenario; we really didn't know how many we were having yesterday! Thanks also to Reino and to to Laura. Roll for Shoes went FABULOUSLY and Reino's table is always a blast.

I'm bringing some Deadlands books, since I have yet to play and think it would be a great game! I have been GMing for years, and could probably throw something together on a lark...either for this or DnD or whatever really.

    Tracey/Dennis,

I was looking through my old AD&D books for nostalgia sake. I've never DM'd before but would be willing to give it a shot. I'd need some assistance/guidance during play, pre-made characters and perhaps some props. I would set up an adventure using one of my AD&D books using v.3.5 rules mixed in. I could get the maps made/enlarged etc. Let me know what you think.

Jim and Scott, that's a very cool idea! Jim is also able to give the go ahead, so why don't you guys try to hash something out for April?

I have scheduled work next Saturday now. We are migrating servers and have to do it on the weekend.

Let's see... I have just less than a month to figure out what to bring - something green or St. Pat's Day oriented! I'm not certain if I can top last month's heart but will see what I can conjure up. ;-)

A leprechaun should be pretty easy to do but probably not in 3d like the heart.

Hmmm... something that doesn't seem like a crime to destroy and devour? Or something that does not look like it came out of a crime lab? lol (And thank you for the compliment, Dan!)
