Dungeons and Dragons/Pathfinder

Ever wanted to play Pen and Paper RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons? Have a few adventures under your belt but feeling rusty? Just want to show some new people the ropes?

We're nerds and we play games, so why not try playing the nerdiest game of them all? I've been playing RPGs on and off for 10 years and would enjoy a chance to teach/murder newcomers. This will be a level 1 adventure to help guide new people into the world of roleplaying games.

We'd either play the overhauled[masked]rd edition, or the even more flexible 2008 Pathfinder. I'd recommend the latter as it has a great beginner's scenario and the core rules are online for free:

Between 6-9 people is the best amount depending on the amount of challenge we want. Expect this to take 4+ hours to create characters and complete.

I had a lot of fun getting to learn how to play and hanging out. You guys are all awesome people. Hope to see you again. Feel free to message me if you ever want to hang out too. My email is [masked]. Have a good one.

I love that the first encounter took the most time. So much paranoia over a pale rogue.

I've mailed out the address and notes to the current attendees just now. If you've signed up late send me a message or leave a comment.

Drat, ironically I'm gaming in the South Bay this whole weekend.

I'm starting up a RPG in the East Bay in about a month with a goal of every other weekend. If anybody lives over here or (gasp) wants to travel to the Ashby BART, I'd like to hear from you and could run.... :)

Right now we have four people (minus me) and I'd like to have a copula more.

The first hour or so will be spent making custom characters. If you do show late you can jump in as one of the four pregenerated characters, though I feel they aren't well made.

Well, I'll sit this one out then. Hopefully there'll be another RPG event.

Hey guys, I just realized I have to attend a conference on Saturday in Palo Alto. Would it be OK to come later, like around 5pm? If that's too late, then I'll change my RSVP so someone on the waiting list can go.

Aw, I was so close, but I wasn't immediately sure how to update my RSVP.

I would love to join (I've never played Dungeons & Dragons), but I work at 5pm and if last night is any indication on the length of time of these games then I definitely won't be able to stick it out. Maybe next time.

can i bring a +1 if this person is a skilled DnD warrior?

Eight players will already make the adventure rather easy. I'm a little afraid that nine would just make it a cakewalk.

I beg of you to change the date! A bunch of us are wine tasting and then others doing the electric run!

If this is actually successful I'll be sure to do it again. There are 100s of adventures to try out.

This is a really good idea but I am also super lazy about going to Oakland. I know this makes me a bad person.

That's a better time for me than nowish, so yay! :)

Ok I set a date and time, feel free to tweak it for what works best for you.
