For some meetups, you may be advised and expected to have a certain level of physical ability and stamina related to the meetup activity.
PLEASE STICK TO YOUR RSVP, AND CHANGE IT IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND.
THERE ARE INHERENT RISKS TO ANY ACTIVE SPORT OR ACTIVITY. BY JOINING 'BAY AREA ANYTHING ACTIVE' OR BY PARTICIPATING IN ANY 'BAY AREA ANYTHING ACTIVE' EVENTS, YOU AGREE THAT YOU AND ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AT ALL TIMES.
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR DOING THE RESEARCH NECESSARY TO BE PREPARED FOR THE MEETUP YOU ARE ATTENDING, INCLUDING WHAT TO BRING (FOOD, GEAR, WATER, ETC.) AND THE SKILL SETS INVOLVED IN THE ACTIVITY.
3 STRIKE NO-SHOW SYSTEM: Three "no-shows" (3 times RSVPing YES and not showing up without changing your RSVP at least 15 minutes before the Meetup) may result in a permanent or extended ban from participating in BAAA events.
CHILD POLICY: We ask not to bring children (ages 17 and younger), unless it's posted in the meetup description that it is okay to do so. Some event hosts have held child-friendly events in the past.
DOG/PET POLICY: Any dog brought on a BAAA hike must be on a leash. Exceptions can be made when Event Hosts clearly post that unleashed dogs are allowed for a specific meetup event. Bringing your dog is allowed for day hikes as long as doing so is in compliance with local laws and restrictions. Do not bring dogs for multi-day activities unless you have cleared it with every member in your Meetup group. No other pets allowed.
FEE BASED MEETUPS: Fees for meetup activities may only be required if: The event is highly organized in advance and has approval from at least one Organizer, if the event is considered a one-time, annual, or bi-annual event, or if the reason for the fee is fully explained. (i.e. "We need the fee to cover food, transportation, gear rental, etc.)
Events that reoccur weekly or monthly must be free of charge, with the exception of having approval from a BAAA organizer or BAAA co-organizer. The intent of this policy is to stop advertisements, solicitations, and potential scams that are disguised as meetups.
AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR SOME EVENTS: We may create events tailored specifically to an age range. It has been expressed by some group members that they are more comfortable in that type of situation.
