Meet the Makers: Glimworm IT

‘Meet the Makers’ is a recurring event where distinguished tech companies show their creations and share the stories behind them.

Glimworm IT loves the Appsterdam philosophy. The co-founder, Jonathan Carter, has nearly 30 years in web development. His list of accomplishments includes everything from project management to robot building, and he continues to keep on top of new developments by constantly evaluating emerging technologies.

In this session, he will share the ins and outs of the ParkShark Amsterdam App, and developers will have the chance to learn how to use the ParkShark API, the first award winner in the Apps for Amsterdam competition. Jonathan will also tell more about the ParkShark City Platform, which connects Cities, Developers and Citizens.

The event is part of the Apps for Amsterdam: Open for Business program. A joint venture to leverage the open data dialogue and support developers and products that are using and/or combining open data meaningfully. We want to hear your story and learn from your experience. E-mail us at [masked]

Last Sunday I spend some time playing around and did a very bare bones Android app the uses the Park Shark API: https://play.google.com/store/ap...

More for the fun of doing than anything else... I think you can also see that I'm no designer. ;)

That was interesting. Nice to have an overview at the issues that creep up when dealing with open data sources.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
