This meetup will focus on practicing your Modern Standard Arabic (fus7a / foos-ha). Take what you have learned in private study, classroom exercises, or Meetup Study Groups and practice your formal Arabic here!
All levels are welcome. Beginners can practice basic greetings and listen to Arabic conversations. Native speakers can practice their formal Modern Standard Arabic and converse about sports, culture, news, etc. Intermediate speakers can assist beginners and learn new words from experts.
We will not be going over any lessons, but we will have some basic phrase sheets and guides for beginners. After a brief introduction in English, we will speak in Arabic. Please keep most of your speech in Arabic. You are welcome to use the phrase, "Kayfa nakul [insert English word or phrase] bel Arabia?" or "How do we say .... in Arabic?"
Don't be afraid to make mistakes! Shout out your words and let others make corrections. Encourage those that are at a lower skill level than you. This group is very friendly and open to all!
