Language meetups often end up being unfocused discussion about learning the language (without much real learning happening). Social occasions are lovely, but we want to improve our Arabic, right?
There are people at different levels of learning in our group. To satisfy everyone, I suggest we do the following:
3:00-3:05: Brief introductions and order food
3:05: For beginners or non-fluent people: Learning something interesting, perhaps dissecting song lyrics and practicing pronouncing/singing them (those not interested can show up at 3:30)
I can bring a song and lyrics, or maybe Alexander or another person can suggest one they'd like to learn. My husband and I can teach it.
3:30-4:00: Arabic conversation practice, or listening to others converse
4:00 on: Individual help or conversation as desired
