My son's school requires him to learn a phrase in another language (he chose Arabic), with the caveat that it cannot be learned over the Internet. The students must go out into the community and meet actual speakers. Would the Caravan be willing to engage a middle-schooler? He will understand if you offer regrets, as he wouldn't want to distract you from your progress. In that instance, perhaps you could recommend another avenue?
The phrase on which he is working: "Good evening. Tonight I greet you in the language of the people of Arabia. You are our welcome guests."
Curious mom to a curious kid.
