It is my family's language of choice; we travel often to the middle east; and I enjoy learning.
I only speak and understand Levantine Arabic pretty well. Getting better at comprehending fusha and Egyptian.
Taq hanak. In colloquial Lebanese it means "blah blah blah," with "hanak" meaning "jaw" and "Taq" indicates the sound the jaw makes when moving up and down!
I speak and understand Lebanese Arabic with intermediate proficiency. I'm married to a Lebanese guy and have a daughter who is fluent in Lebanese.
