hello everyone!
 
just a little reminder: the OPEN HOUSE NEW YORK schedule--with over 300 sites to go and visit for free all around the city on 10/4-5--has just been announced! i've just started perusing the list of sites at www.ohny.org and i am soooooooo excited! tomorrow i'll be attending the volunteer orientation, so as of now i have no idea where they'll put me or which day, but i'm looking forward to it. hope you guys will be able to check out whatever locations strike your fancy.

  Look for the OHNY Weekend Event Guide in The New York Times on Friday, September 26!

The 2008 OHNY Weekend Event Guide will be inserted into the City Edition of the New York Times Friday, September 26. Look for a copy in newsstands and home delivery in all five boroughs!

Check the online site and program listings at ohny.org for updates.

Please note all advance reservations for sites and programs will begin at 9am on Friday, September 26. OHNY does not take reservations; please follow reservation instructions provided in the event guide.

  6th Annual OHNY Weekend Preview:
Family Festival at CFA


Join OHNY Kids! and the Center for Architecture Foundation as they host a fun filled Family Festival!

Families take part in a range of quick design / build challenges hosted by organizations from around the city, such as Brooklyn Children's Museum, Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts, Hester Street Collaborative, Landmark West!, Lower East Side Tenement Museum, Museum at Eldridge Street, Noble Maritime Collection, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Solar One, South Street Seaport Museum and the National Building Museum from DC.

Kids will have the opportunity to design their own building facades, learn about architectural elements, discover parts of a ship, build a solar car, create monumental masks, make neighborhood lanterns and more!
