I have updated the information to be a little more informative. We are going to try to leave Gilbert around 4:00 am in the morning so that we have plenty of time to hike in and get there before dark. Others who have to work can simply hike in behind us, but it will be dark. Some will hike out on Sunday morning. Others will hike out Monday. Just remember if you stay an extra day, it will cost an extra $17 dollars.
Most of the people in this group are not aggressive hikers. We will go at slow-to-medium pace and will rest often as needed. I would, however, recommend going to the gym and running 2-3 miles a day to get yourself acclimated to a good physical workout. My personal goal is to lose about 20 pounds before this trip. Nothing like having a good reason to get in shape. The trail difficulty rating is detailed below.

Havasu Canyon is best described as a Grand Canyon warm-up hike.
If Bright Angel is rated a 5 on a 1-5 scale then Havasu Canyon
is a 4. The elevation change from the start to the village of
Supai is about 2,700'. You encounter most of that change in the
first 2 miles going in which is great. It's like a baby Bright
Angel hike to start with, then it flattens out with only a
gradual decent the next 8 miles into the village. Beautifully
colored canyon walls greet you for the second half of the hike
into Supai. Once in the village, you have access to a small
store, lodge and restaurant which serves a nice breakfast for
the trip out! They also have assorted Mexican dishes and
snacks.
