I have updated the information to be a little more informative. We are going to try to leave Gilbert around 4:00 am in the morning so that we have plenty of time to hike in and get there before dark. Others who have to work can simply hike in behind us, but it will be dark. Some will hike out on Sunday morning. Others will hike out Monday. Just remember if you stay an extra day, it will cost an extra $17 dollars.

Most of the people in this group are not aggressive hikers. We will go at slow-to-medium pace and will rest often as needed. I would, however, recommend going to the gym and running 2-3 miles a day to get yourself acclimated to a good physical workout. My personal goal is to lose about 20 pounds before this trip. Nothing like having a good reason to get in shape. The trail difficulty rating is detailed below.

Other Options:
************

Round Trip Horseback Rides are $150. Please call [masked] to schedule a horseback trip. Do it now, because if you wait they will be sold out. (click on the link for more details)

Round Trip Helicopter Rides are $170. The helicopter will also fly in frieght for $100 round trip . Please call [masked] to schedule a helicopter ride or freight. Do it now, because if you wait, they will be sold out. (click on the link for more details)

Camping will cost $75 to camp for two nights. Please send me a check or call me with a credit card number. I will get a 10% discount if we have over 15 people.
(click on the link for more details, including what to bring)

We will be camping Friday night, Saturday night and hiking out on Sunday. For people who don't have to work on Monday, we might stay an extra day.

Directions to Havasupai Falls:
Click here for a Map with Directions on how to get there. I will be driving a suburban up there. I have room for 4 people. We'll split the gas. Anyone that wants to follow us up there, please give me a call at [masked] and be at my house by 4:00 am.

Difficulty: 4 (out of 5)
Distance Round Trip
21 miles
Trailhead Elevation
5172 feet
Elevation Gain
-2496 feet
Av Time Round Trip
8-12 hours

Havasu Canyon is best described as a Grand Canyon warm-up hike.
If Bright Angel is rated a 5 on a 1-5 scale then Havasu Canyon
is a 4. The elevation change from the start to the village of
Supai is about 2,700'. You encounter most of that change in the
first 2 miles going in which is great. It's like a baby Bright
Angel hike to start with, then it flattens out with only a
gradual decent the next 8 miles into the village. Beautifully
colored canyon walls greet you for the second half of the hike
into Supai. Once in the village, you have access to a small
store, lodge and restaurant which serves a nice breakfast for
the trip out! They also have assorted Mexican dishes and
snacks.

If you to go on this trip, you need to be paid in full by 4/4/2008. Tons of people want to go and if I have received payment by the deadline, I will delete you so they can RSVP yes and pay. RSVPing yes doesnt mean thing. People who have paid are the ones on my "yes" list.
