The 30-minute Realtor Solar Scout™ Training Program teaches real estate agents how to:
1. Scout for premium solar residential/commercial rooftops
2. Participate in direct mail/door hanger marketing programs that generate sales leads
3. Utilize monthly electricity usage to recommend a solar system to zero out electricity bills
4. Collect a 1% commission on sales price, plus $750-$1,500 signing fee per signed contract
5. Create tens of thousands of dollars of tax-free home equity
6. Add new revenue streams via energy efficiency surveys
7. Add new revenue streams via solar thermal water heater installations
8. Add new revenue streams via solar power installations
9. Access $185 million of subsidies that pay 60% of solar/energy efficiency installations
10. Learn about new laws that prevent HOAs from prohibiting solar installations

Although the ASPS’ Realtor Solar Scout™ Training Program is being rolled out for real estate agents in Arizona, the training courses teach anyone, anywhere in the U.S. armed with a computer and broadband Internet access how to become a Solar Scout™, how to find ideal solar rooftops that are situated perfectly to collect solar insolation, and how to sell solar power and solar thermal water heating systems.
A typical system solar power system sells for $35,000 - $50,000. A system that zero's out a customer's electricity bill completely will be closer to $100,000. Real Estate Agents will collect a 1% sales commission on the selling price of the solar system. Agents can also collect a solar sales transaction fee as long as the fees are disclosed in the mortgage contract.
