At the request of Ted Bilich of Creative Arlington and Commissioner of the Arlington Economic Development Authority, I am passing along details of this great (free) event occurring tomorrow night. I am going to do my best to attend but have an earlier commitment that may make it difficult. If you are free please try to make it because it should be a very informative session! DETAILS: Are you an entrepreneur -- traditional, new, artistic, potential, or otherwise? If so, our next meeting is for you. On Thursday, December 10th, Creative Arlington will be hosting a forum on "co-working" possibilities -- ways in which you can share resources and space with others. If you have opened a small business, are thinking about doing so, or want to see what it might take, come join the discussion! There will also be plenty of opportunity to meet other Creative-Arlington types, both entrepreneurial and entrepreneurial-curi ous. Advance registration is required for this event. To register please click on this link below: http://creativearlin gton.ning.com/events /creative-arlington- does Please do not RSVP on this site to attend. You must click on the link above to register.

Hi Everyone, Tonight's meetup was a little light on attendance so for next month I'm going to make a push to get many more people there. I'd like the meetup to be a way for current small business owners to network with new and potential small business owners. So, bring a helping attitude and a stack of business cards. It's a great way to meet people. I'm going to use Twitter (twitter.com/natecro bertson) and Facebook (Facebook.com/natecr obertson) to promote the event. Hopefully this will be the biggest Arlington Entrepreneur Meetup ever! We're going to try Ri Ra again as I was a little disappointed with the space at Velocity 5. Nate

Hi Everyone, The July meetup was great with a lot of energy and participation from the people attending. I'm going to try and make the August meetup even better. I was happy with Velocity 5 except for the location in the restaurant. I'll try to get us either a spot outside or a spot where we can mingle a little better. If you have yet to come to one of our meetups they are a great way to meet and mingle with entrepreneurs. Nate

Hi Everyone, Well, after the Clarendon power outage in June I'm hoping for a big crowd in July. I'll schedule the meeting again for Ri Ra. It should be a good venue for the group and allow us to talk and mingle. Be sure to bring business cards. Hope to see everyone there and as always let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Nate

Hi Everyone-- Our May Meetup was great with the best attendance I've ever seen. I'm hoping that June can be even better! This meetup is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to get out into the community and meet experienced and potential entrepreneurs. The May meetup had 25+ people in attendance. I have the Meetup tentatively scheduled for Cosi in Ballston but I'm going to explore other options. I will keep it in Arlington on an Orange Line metro stop. I'd like to find a place with a back room that we can mingle in. Ri Ra in Clarendon would be great but I'll have to contact them and find out if they'd give us their back room for free. If you have any suggestions for a location please let me know. Look forward to seeing everyone. Nate Robertson

Hi Everyone, Our meeting last night was great and I hope the next one is just as good. I'm going to look into moving the Meetup to a local restaurant in the area. It'll stay in Ballston for convenience but I'll try to find a restaurant with a back room we can sit in and talk. I hope to see everyone there! Nate

In this current economic climate in which we find ourselves it's more important than ever to get good quality referrals. I recently started the Arlington Business Referral Group in order to meet this need. We offer a professional, but slightly laid back atmosphere in which to mingle, get to know your fellow group members, and establish good long-term relationships which are the basis of a good referral network. We are accepting one person from each product or service area. So, you'll want to sign up quickly lest someone join up ahead of you. Nonetheless should that happen we will be keeping a list of stand-bys for when we grow enough to require starting another group. We'll meet weekly for the time being. I'm looking forward to seeing you there! Rich

Hi Everyone-- I will be taking over the Thursday Meetup as Rich has a lot on his table. I'd like to change up the format slightly as I feel like there are a lot of Entrepreneurs just setting out who have a lot of questions and would like to have a forum to get answers. The meeting will start at 6:30 and give everyone 30 minutes to talk and network with the early arrivals and then we'll start a discussion forum that'll go from 7:00 until people start to head out. This meeting will be a great opportunity to meet and network with experienced and aspiring DC area Entrepreneurs in a relaxed environment. The meetings will start at the same location (Cosi next to the Ballston Metro) but I'm open to moving it to a local restaurant or business as long as it's metro accessible and is in the Ballston or Clarendon area. I think Ballston is best because of the cheap parking nearby. If you have questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, etc, feel free to send me an email. I'd love to have some feedback and discuss ways to make these meetings work for the people who attend them. Nathan Robertson
