Hello, I'm Debra Howard. I live in Southern Maryland, Solomons Island. I paint in oils. Currently showing at Carmen's gallery. I've forwarded a message from Carmen and Annmarie Garden Art Center concerning a Plein air art show May 14-17. It's beautiful down here. Solomons is an authentic fishing village built on a? spit of sand that leads out to the Patuxent River and the Bay. lots to paint. This would be a great event to get involved with. Since it is the first year, they are accepting all artists and Annmarie which is affiliated with the Smithsonian is a wonderful place to have your work hung. Modern, lots of light. Solomons has a lot of bed and breakfasts and Holiday inn and Carmen's is organizing?host families for artists?to stay over night. But you could drive it. It is only 60 miles south of Washington DC on Penn. Ave Route 4. I haven't made a meet up yet but planning on it. Not too many artists down here. I'll send on links to Annmarie and Carmen's on the next message.
Forwarded message:
Hi all,
I would love to have you consider joining us for Solomons' first plein air painting event.? It is happening May 14 -17.? We'll paint on Thursday - Sat and have the judging/show at AnnMarie Garden on Sunday.? The Quick Draw is Sat. at the Calvert Marine Museum.? The judge is Bill Schmidt, a very well respected plein air painter from Rockville, MD.? I will have a showing of Schmidt's work here at the gallery on Sat evening.? Many events are planned, so spread the word.? All painters are welcome this first year.? For more info or a registration form ($25 fee), visit MAPAPA's website.? We are attempting to get host families for the artists, so please sign up early.? Call me if you need details.? Thanks for your interest!
