ArtForward designed this daytrip to provide respite from the everyday urban living and to enjoy contemporary art in an alternate setting. To make the experience more rewarding, the trip has been organized in collaboration with the opening of
"Plugged In". The curator, Melissa Stafford hopes the exhibition will start a new tradition of bravely exploring the frontiers of electronic and interactive art in outdoor public spaces throughout Hudson, NY.
"Plugged In", will feature 15 artists from the Hudson Valley and New York City. These artists are all contributing new works that include sound, performance, digital and video art. Participating artists include: Greg Lock (New Paltz, NY), Mark Gregory (Albany, NY), Giorgio Handman (Hudson, NY), Kathe Izzo (Hudson, NY), Ingrid Ludt (Albany, NY), Jesse Matulis (Cohoes, NY), Josh Pelletier (Hudson, NY), Jillian McDonald (New York, NY), Michael Oatman (Troy, NY), Fernando Orellana (Troy, NY), Jonathan Osofsky + Jasdeep Gosal (Hudson, NY), Christine Sciulli (New York, NY), Bart Woodstrup (Troy, NY) + Chip Fasciana (Albany, NY), Bryan Zanisnik (New York, NY). Heading north mid-May is an opportune time to revel in springs glory. ArtForward guests will be dropped off at Hudson Farmer's Market, where they can experience Columbia County's bounty. From there, guests will be given recommendations for lunch and can leisurely stroll Warren Street en route to two private events exclusively for ArtForward guests.
