Greetings members, I have just learned that the Path train to Hoboken will not be running for 2 to 3 more weeks. This disruption is being blamed on Hurricane Sandy. One alternative is the ferry service, (http://www.nywaterway.com/ferryroutesschedules.aspx) which departs from West 39th Street in Manhattan, and goes to 14th Street in Hoboken. Another option is to take a bus (#126 I believe) from Port Authority to Hoboken (Path Station). You must purchase tickets at PA for the bus prior to getting on. Finally, you can take Path trains (http://www.panynj.gov/path/) from Manhattan to Pavonia/ Newport station in Jersey City. It's possible to walk from there to Hoboken.
For the intrepid members of Wired NY and ArtForward who attend, this will be our first ever tour of Hoboken, New Jersey, USA. Artists in the mile-square city are opening their workspaces for people to see the creative process in real time. We will also stop in at a couple of galleries. I have ordered perfect weather for our adventure, thank you very much.
The Cultural Affairs Dept says: "As diverse as the art itself, the tour’s popularity draws artists far beyond the banks of Hoboken. You will see art in many forms, representing an exciting variety of mediums. Visitors will have a chance to meet the artists, photographers, sculptors and artisans, and witness the creative process at work. Even poets, musicians and performance artists will be on hand to make your day a memorable one."
