We are proud to introduce our featured artist Lisa Holtzman, a top notch calligrapher, jewelry designer, water color and acrylic painter.

While earning her BA degree in college, Lisa was given a
calligraphy pen by her father, a graphic designer. She
quickly became enamored with the art of hand lettering
and has been earning her living as a self taught, full time
freelance calligrapher for over 25 years.

Over the years, Lisa has dabbled in jewelry designing and
more recently, watercolor and acrylic paintings. The Word is ART presents a whole new direction and opportunity for her creativity. Lisa is excited to share her distinct style of painting and one of a kind jewelry pieces.

The Word is ART Gallery is a coop and at present we have an eclectic group of 17 artists in the gallery. We each have our individual space and share in the support of each other. It's a wonderful community where we get to shine, sell our art and build our professional art careers.

Artist talk: 7 p.m.
Artist Reception: champagne and nibbles

20% of Lisa's sales from Jan. 22nd  - Feb. 14th will go to the support of Bunny Luv Rabbit Resource Center

Plenty of parking available across Venice Boulevard on the west side of Main Street

    Arriving almost the tail end of event, my girlfriends (3others - 2of us fr.OC) & i had a deliciously enchanting time. Even more cool was a painting named/by an artist called Lydia? Resembled almost identical to one of our gfs in attendance! Kinda bum'd we miss'd some of the earlier crowd, yet still met plenty more artistic souls. Major kudos & 'grats to organizers for the charm & warmth you gathered to your gallery. We hopped a few more after but didn't really find nor expect much of the same. So lucky us to find a gem of hospitality from so many others. Look fwd to next one. Til then, cheers! =}

    Is it normal to be promoted from the waitlist with only 40 minutes or so till an event starts? That just doesn't give a guy time to shower, shave, and get his butt to the other side of the county.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
