Roth Gallery is pleased to invite you to the closing reception of its current debut solo exhibition "Interpretations" for Avi Roth that opened on May 19, 2012.
For about 100,000 years, ever since mankind could stand on two feet, he has been making art. Archeologists now agree that it was not to record events, nor was it to decorate their dwellings. The question still remains unsolved, Why? Avi Roth, in his exhibit Interpretations scheduled to close on July 14, 2012 may have answered this age old question.
Mr. Roth utilizes a medium that is most common to our everyday lives – coffee. Yet his images are so compelling that the viewer is transported into a world of forgotten dreams. They may be personal dreams. They may be the collective dreams of The Family of Man, the stuff of Carl Jung’s literature. In either case, the images are spellbinding and all the more extraordinary because they are made of the coffee that we drink each morning. The exhibition features 42 Coffeegraphs.
