Woolly Mammoth Theatre Pay What You Can

Aaron Posner, Howard Shalwitz, Kate Eastwood Norris, Rick Foucheux, Kimberly Gilbert - it's like an all-star lineup of talent. The play is Stupid Fucking Bird, Posner's new take on Chekhov's great play The Seagull.  This should be good. Posner has a hit show running in New York now and has directed many a hit in DC.

Tickets for the Pay What You Can go on sale at 6 pm. Hard to say how lines will be given it's a holiday.  I'm going to put 5:00 for now and will update if I feel like it doesn't need to be that early.  After we get tickets, we'll go get a casual dinner - and sit outside if the weather is nice.  Makes for a nice social occasion.

Parking should be free on Monday, and the Chinatown and Archives Metro stops are very close.

I enjoyed it, too. What a terrific ensemble of local talent (with one New Yorker). And wonderful small musical interludes.
Even got to meet Howard Shalwitz!!
Ronn, I know there were a few glitches, but sincere thanks for once again providing us with a great event, esp on a holiday.

An imaginative re-imagination of Chekhov's masterpiece. Well scripted, well performed, with quick-witted audience participation. All this on the first night of the scheduled run! No wonder there was quite a line for the PWYC show at the tail end of a holiday long weekend. Well worth seeing - 2 1/2 hour incl intermission flies by, so engaging was the performance! Thanks Ronn, as ever you know how to find the best of the bunch!

The play starts at 8:00. I called Woolly Mammoth - they said it runs about 2 and a half hours, with intermission.

should we get more than 1 ticket for later arrivals?

    May 27, 2013

  • Ronn

Will see everyone around 5 or whenever you arrive - just get in line when you get there. The line is always unpredictable, but I'm hoping this is a reasonable time. my number to text is[masked]-7494. we'll definitely sit outside somewhere for dinner after we get tickets.
