ArtHouse welcomes in the new year with a sort-of gallery walk. Barbara Bennett graciously hosts people every First Friday in her lovely apartment - we've had to bypass there the last couple times (due to time constraints), so let's start there this time. She has a great new show of paintings up by Peter Heywood that I got to preview last month and they're very cool - reflections of buildings in New York. I believe he will be there.
I put 6:00 so maybe we can get a little more in, but if you have to join us a little after, that's fine. We will stay at Barbara's for at least an hour - so it will be a nice chance to socialize with some wine and cheese (and maybe more - she's very generous). I know that Foundry is open so we will definitely head there and hopefully one or two others. We'll probably head to Peri Peri Chicken for dinner - they have a great room for us that makes it very easy and social.
As always, on our Gallery Walks, we are very appreciative of the generosity of the gallery owners. This is a commercial enterprise and many of the works are affordable, so please come with an open mind and a certain seriousness about what we will see. I will definitely ask you for a dollar or two because I will bring a couple bottles of wine to Barbara's place. It's the least we can do for her.
The Dupont Circle North Metro exit is 1 block away from our start. Parking opens up at 6:30 on Florida or Mass.
