The Studio Gallery has reopened after a nice refubishing so we'll start there. They have an interesting art show on travel and a photography exhibit using lots of color. We'll then choose from 4 or 5 other galleries depending on the weather and our comfort. Afterwards we'll go to dinner - Vapiano and Peri Peri Chicken are usually the best places for us - and maybe we can watch some of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies.
Hillyer (where they ask for a donation of $1 to $5) is always a fun place for us to go, as well as Barbara's Q Street Fine Art. If weather is okay, we'll finish at Foundry where there looks to be a very cool photography exhibit by a Croatian photographer.
I put 6:15 so maybe we can get a little more in, but if you have to join us a little after that, that's fine. We won't be rushing. Parking opens up at 6:30 or Studio is about 2 blocks from Dupont Metro north exit. We'll probably leave the Studio area around 6:45.
As always, on our Gallery Walks, we are very appreciative of the generosity of the gallery owners. This is a commercial enterprise and many of the works are affordable, so please come with an open mind and a certain seriousness about what we will see. It was really neat that one of our members bought a painting last month. Beyond that, have a glass of wine or two, a little cheese and fruit, and please enjoy these wonderfully social settings.
I'll collect a dollar if you don't mind on the walk to cover meetup expenses.
