We had a wonderful time at this concert last year so let's do it again. (The official title is RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles.) Who doesn't like to sing along to all those great Beatles songs? There was a sea of Hey Juders and Let It Beings, of all ages, singing out of tune (me) and smiling from ear to ear. In the beautiful environs of Wolf Trap, on the lawn, with plenty of great food and wine? It was really fun.
So let's hope for good weather again and do a mass potluck picnic on the lawn. Wolf Trap is unique in that you can still bring in your own food, wine and beer. I would love to have a few people get there at 6:15 with me to claim a huge space on the left side of the lawn (as you face the stage). The Potluck seemed to work out well last year. My memories are that a bunch of us brought this beautifully healthy food like hummus, carrots, salsa, guacamole, chips, etc., and then a woman brought a bucket of fried chicken that could not have gone any faster! :-) If you like wine, then try to bring a good cheap bottle with you. It goes fast there on a nice night!
Lawn tickets are $25 and can be purchased here. There's no rush but it will sell out down the road. If you can ever get by there on a weekend or at an earlier show, get your ticket then. There is no fee when you buy it in person!
Metro bus goes to Wolf Trap from West Falls Church, and I'm sure we'll be able to give rides back to Metro (and maybe further if we coordinate) to people after the show. Hope you can make it! It really is the ultimate group event.
