Amour - Oscar-nominated Foreign Films at National Geographic (Ticket required)

Global Glimpses, National Geographic's showings of all 5 Oscar-nominated foreign films returns in February over President's Day Weekend.  They really do it up right - each film either follows or precedes a reception, all for a very reasonable price.  I'm going to list all five films because you can buy the series for just $41.  You can also buy each film individually for $9 each.  Click here to purchase tickets.

Most likely all films will sell out - certainly this one. Amour is a heavy favorite to win this Oscar. In the final months of her life, a retired music teacher and her husband of sixty years struggle with the debilitating effects of two strokes on both her health and her quality of life. As Georges cares for the increasingly unhappy Anne, the pair finds the nature of their life together irrevocably changed. (Austria, 127 minutes)  A reception will follow the film.

Again, this film will sell out  You can click here to buy a ticket for just this or the entire series.  National Geographic is very easy to get to, just a couple blocks from the Metro or they have free underground parking.

the movie was very heavy. Acting was good but I wasn't moved or challenged by it which was disappointing

Are we going to meet somewhere at the National Geographic before the film starts? I couldn't figure out who belonged to the group at the AU exhibit.

4:30? Won't most of us still be at work then? Did you mean 5:30 since the reception begins at 6, and the movie at 7?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
