This group looks like an interesting mix of cinemaphiles! I look forward to making new friends, and seeing some interesting theater!
Right now, I am channeling my "inner adolescent male" haha and am loving comic/graphic novel come-to-life (think Marvel, DC, Alan Moore) and Hayao Miyazaki films. Because I grew up watching them late-night on a tee-tiny black & white TV with real dials, I have always loved the work of Howard Hawkes, James Whale, George Romero...or anything that makes the Mystery Science Theater 3000 Worst list. ( ; Epics? Biographies? WWII submarine films? I'm there.
I love being introduced to the diverse venues where films are featured in DC i.e. National Geographic, Portrait Gallery etc. I also love how many historic neighborhood theaters we still appear to have.
I grew up in a lively, multi-generational family with exposure to all eras of cinema from Murnau's Nosferatu to Rodriquez's Once Upon a Time in Mexico. ( : I am not "genre-biased" in the least!
