To drag myself out the cave and back into the cinema more often; to get back into the habit of seeing good films ...
Jim Jarmusch - esp Down By L.; Fritz Lang, Bertrand Blier - esp Les Valseuses, Buffet Froid; Truffaut; Godard; JJB & Diva & BB; Vitt de Sica - Ladri di Biciclette; D Lynch, Wim Wenders, Babenco - esp Kiss ot Sp. W; Scorcese - esp Taxi D & After Hrs
They're films that don't rely on big stars, big budgets or big special effects - none of which interest me; they're (often) experimental, interesting and moving. No hamburgers involved.
Going through Meet up gps
Because the films chosen are generally excellent; and the post-film discussions bring out the inner complexities, hidden layers and diverse interpretations of films.
Hiya Craig. Yes, I thought about that (that I might sound like I was creating a splinter group), so I posted a disclaimer. It would have been nice to organise a little quiz or suchlike, but best not to risk it.
But let me know if you'd be up for a museum or something. I've been meaning to go to the Courtauld for aaaages, in case that appeals.
What kind of adult education do you do?
