Creativity is a gift posessed by all humans. It is what makes us unique from other carbon-based life forms.
Use your gift lavishly, every day.
Julia Cameron is an artist, writer and cheerleader for people seeking to establish (or re-establish) a core of creativity in their lives and work. Her book, The Artist's Way provides a blueprint for 12 weeks of creativity exercises and for establishing Creative Clusters.
Come connect with other artists of every type -- visual/tactile, performing, written word, crafting artisan, aspiring -- and explore ways of working past barriers and into larger ideas.
The Chicago Artist's Way Group meets on the first Monday of every month. Together we work on attending to the Basics: Morning Pages, weekly Artist Dates and daily Half-Hour Walks. Each month we address four topics, using "The Artist's Way" exercises as our guide. We look toward the next month's topics.
Learn how others have used these tools as a springboard for greater understanding of their own role in the unfolding of the creative process. Newcomers are always welcome to join, and jump in wherever we/you are. Even if you only wish to witness the process in others, you are invited to attend.
Visit the Artist's Way: Chicago blog to learn more about this group, Julia Cameron, her writings and Creative Clusters. This site also provides an outline of the work for the current month.
