You and your family & friends (and lawnchairs!) are invited for a free, under the stars screening of "Rent".
Centretown Movies is an annual outdoor film festival created by the community, for the community, to revitalize underused urban space in Ottawa’s downtown. Every Friday and Saturday beginning in mid-July through the month of August, Centretown Movies shows popular, family friendly movies in our open-air, walk-in theatre.
Admission is always pay-what-you-can. Centretown Movies is a volunteer driven project, run by a volunteer organizing committee. The festival has one paid employee—the festival coordinator, who is hired for six weeks during the summer.
Note that alcohol and smoking are not permitted.
Centretown Movies is seeking volunteers who are willing to help us carry our projection gear from storage to our screening site a few blocks away. We could also use a hand setting up and taking down our screen and speakers before and after the films, as well as aid us by answering attendee questions and collecting donations.
We meet on the corner of Dundonald Park Somerset & Lyon prior to each of our screenings at 6pm. The films tend to run to around 11pm and after which we pack up.
If you love movies, and can lend part of your Friday of Saturday evening to a great community event please contact us. [masked]
