We convene Christians for Equality (www.christiansforequality.org) an organization that emerged out of the 2012 One Anchorage campaign supporting a ballot initiative to extend anti discrimination legislation to LGBT persons. CFE have expanded their purposes and "raise a faithful voice for peace, justice and equality rooted in the Hebrew Prophets and the gospel of Jesus Christ."

We're a faith community that meets at the intersection of faith, spirituality, environmental care and service to others. Some are part of a church, others are DONE with church, but not with God or their own spirituality. We meet in Anchorage during the week because we play out in the beauty of Alaska on the weekends. We seek ways to explore our spirituality without rigid boundaries.

We're part of inclusive, progressive mainline Christianity. Inclusive - meaning everyone is welcome fully as you are into community regardless of your beliefs, background, ethnicity, income, sexual orientation or gender identity. Progressive - meaning that we believe our tradition and scriptures must be constantly interpreted (and re-interpreted) in light of spirit-guided discernment, discussion and scholarship so that we might understand and struggle with what it means to follow Jesus. Mainline- meaning we emerge out of the American Protestant tradition, primarily as an Alaska PLUME (Presbyterian Lutheran United Methodist Episcopalian) community. Christianity- meaning we follow Jesus!

This Meetup is part of Ascent Alaska - a faith community that meets through outdoor recreation, explores spirituality and actively works for a better world. We organize social & recreational gatherings, service projects and spiritual adventures.

We are the Alaska licensee for Hiking Yoga (www.hikingyoga.com)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
