This is a 4 mile round trip hike in the Greenbrier section of the Smokies. It is an easy/moderate hike that involves multiple creek crossings that have bridges (including one of my favorite log bridges!). The trail is loaded with attractions. There are several old buildings, an old cemetery, wildflowers (hopefully beginning) and ends with a waterfall. Fern Branch falls is not a spectacular waterfall but it has its charms and will be a good spot to stop for lunch before turning back. Because of all the points of interest, this will be a casual hike with plenty of time for picture taking.
The departure time is early because this is a popular trail and the parking gets packed. We will meet up, assemble car pools and depart within 15 minutes of gathering time so please be on time.
*Bring camera, lunch/snack, water.
*Sorry, dogs not allowed in GSMNP.:-(
*We will carpool so remember to help out drivers with gas $.
