Plant walk: Rattlesnake lodge for sure is cancelled. I sprained my foot

  • May 15, 2013 · 10:00 AM

Lets meet at Ingles at 10 am. and carpool to the trail head. Please allow 4-6 hours. We will hike pass the rattlesnake lodge to the top of the mountain or farther depending on time and desire that day. Along the way, we will see many flowering plants, medicinal plants and ramps. If you want to know the conditions, just please google it. I feel it is a moderate hike. Please bring a lunch, camera, and paper for notes if you want.  This is an educational hike, so there is no hurry and plenty of time to discuss each plant we meet.  We should meet well over 30 well known edibles, medicinal and flowering plants on this trail. I am limiting it to 20 because of the limited parking. In the past, we have had a lot of no shows. Please respect people that wanted to go, but couldn't because there was no availability. If you find your plans have changed, change your rsvp.

If anyone would like to go with me (and the girls - see pic) I would be happy to show people around. I just can't give you the depth of experience that Jenny has. I live just a couple of miles from the trail head so I'm pretty flexible as far as time goes.

You can always start with us and turn around when you need to. It is no problem. It is an in and out hike. You can easily get to the lodge in 45 minutes.
